A regular meeting of the Django Software Foundation Board of Directors was held via teleconference starting on 18 Dec, 2013, 4pm CST. Russell Keith-Magee led the meeting.

Foundation tax status

Joseph is working on the issue and the case is being reviewed by the accountant. Requested help in reviewing the 1023 Application. Reporting to the DSF membership will occur this month.

Legal Agreement for trademark use

Joseph confirmed invoiced and paid.

Business during the month

Statements from US Bank

Joseph has paid money to retrieve old statements.

Kogan donation

Kogan donation of $10K AUS. See blog for more.

Bitcoin donation request

Board decided that we are not inclined to accept bitcoins because of its current tax status.

CLA for HP

Jeremy will confirm if a corporate level CLA exists in the archive for HP.

Position on DjangoCon name

After review the board decided not to allow using the name DjangoCon, unless it is a larger conference so the conference could be reviewed. The board would like to encourage small Django conferences, but with a different name.

Copyright violation of Django Book

Book has been removed from Amazon Kindle store. Request for attribution from the organisation has been sent.

New Business

Django Weekend Cardiff.

Board approved request for sponsorship for $200.

Advertising for merchandise suppliers

Adrian was not opposed to a page that listed suppliers selling Django merchandise.

DjangoCon US planning

Call for volunteers sent out and blog post created.

PyCon US sponsorship

Under discussion, was suggested at the $1,500 level. Karen to follow up with PyCon organisers.

PyCon PH sponsorship

Board approved gold level sponsorship.

CLA

CLA refers to Schedule B. Karen to investigate.

Dutch Django Sprint

Board approved approx 160EUR to cover Baptiste attending.
